For this blog post I’m going to talk about Kinobody. Kinobody is a brand created by Greg O’Gallagher which focuses on building a Hollywood physique through minimalist training, calorie management, and intermittent fasting. Now, when I say minimalist training, I don’t mean it’s easy work. You’re going to work hard and push yourself beyond your limits. What I mean by minimalist training is you’ll only be training 2-3 times a week. The real secret behind his fitness programs are the key lifts that target specific muscle groups that help enhance the waist to shoulder ratio and create that V shape.
He offers an array of fitness programs that target specific results and a physique quiz that will guide you towards the program that best suits your goals.
He also offers a variety of other products like a pre-workout called Kino Octane, blue light blocking glasses called Kino Vision, a Kino Belt for weighted exercises like pull-ups and dips, and a streetwear/gym wear hybrid clothing line.
As a husband, a father, author of the ebook “May, I Work For You“, and creator of A Living System ™ , I’ve become quite busy over the past few years. I retired from personal training because I needed to apply my energy and attention elsewhere and needed a fitness program for myself. With the increase in demands in my life, I decided to outsource Module 2: Physical Activity. After over a year of monitoring Greg’s content with Kinobody, I made my decision to implement his Greek God Program as my fitness strategy.
I first started the Greek God Program in January of 2019 and since then I’ve joined his affiliate program and have hit multiple personal records (PR’s) with weight and reps. In addition, my shoulders are growing, I’m stronger than ever, and I’m not spending more than 2-3 sessions in the gym per week, all to which are no more than 45-60 minutes in duration.
The program has worked for me and also offers specialization options for you to change your approach so you’re not doing the same thing over and over again. When I first started, my goal was to focus on shoulders which has proven to be a wise decision. The first half of 2019 has been great for strength and building some size and density to my shoulders. For the second half of this year, I’m continuing my focus on shoulders with different exercises mentioned in the program. In addition, I’ll be focusing on maintaining a small caloric deficit to lean out and trim away body fat. I have a strength goal to hit 75 lbs chin-ups for 5 reps and 100 lbs dips for 5 reps, both by the end of August. That’s additional weight added to my body weight. I’m currently 220 lbs and have a goal weight of 190-200 lbs after leaning out. I’m thinking I’ll be satisfied with 10-12% body fat.
When 2020 starts I’ll be switching my focus from shoulders to chest and lats. I’m a big advocate for the Greek God Program because of its versatility and effectiveness for gaining size and strength relative to one’s body weight. I almost went for the SuperHero Bulking Program but I wanted a leaner muscular look for myself.
Now, even though I’m focusing on my upper body, I’m still doing compound movements to work my legs. Squats, Bulgarian split squats, and sumo deadlifts are all a part of the program. There’s more leg exercises suggested in the program but those are the three I’ve incorporated into my personal journey. Each program offers different paths for each individual, yet each program has a specific targeted outcome. The Aggressive Fat Loss Program is great for someone who just wants to get lean, The Warrior Shredding Program is great for someone who wants to get strong and get lean, The Kinobooty Program is great for someone who wants to work glutes and legs. There’s a Bodyweight Mastery Program for mastering calisthenics which is great for people who don’t care for or have access to a lot of gym equipment. The Goddess Toning Program is excellent for getting a trim, toned look and all of the programs are designed to allow you to live a balanced lifestyle so you can enjoy the things you care most about. That was a huge selling point for me.
In conclusion, the programs are great and they work. I personally use one of them and have nothing but great reviews for it. You get a lot of support from the Facebook community, plenty of YouTube videos from Greg that are already available to you for free, and the program material is always available to review. I’ve gone back several times and it’s helped me tweak my workouts to get the results I was looking for.
